It’s really just messing with the text now with this one and that no big task but I'm a fan of the outline as it has its merits being instantly recognisable that its about MINI. I ‘m sure there is a few other idea’s floating just no Highland Cow please….:smilewinkgrin:

Evening - realise I'm new in here, but I reckon you should drop the word "new" and replace with BMW ..... it'll give the site/club name a bit more longevity, and you may attract owners with previous/future models.
BMWMiniScotland.co.uk (and .com) are current available.....
As for the latest version of the logo immediately above .... Love it :)

:hand: I think NEW fits and goes along with the site perfectly. It applies to all new MINIs ranging from R50 to well what ever they have after the F56. We aren't against old Minis with a lot of members on the site having old and new MINI's, but we are mainly a MINI fourmQuote:

I like the white design, it's nice and clean. Well done.
Personally, I dont think it needs the ' co.uk ' as I've looked at other forums and Facebook groups that have logos that don't have the forum / group name presented as an internet domain.
Also, extending the outline of the mini to accommodate the 'co.uk' doesn't really work for me. I know the extension is subtle but the outline looks better in its original form.
I think it's time for someone with the skills to do one with an R50 in the same design as the one we all seem to like which is the white outline and do 4 options
White Outline R56 with Red S
White Outline R56 with Purple S
White Outline R50 with Red S
White Outline R50 with Purple S
I think we have kinda sorted out the main part of the design, now it's just the tweeking.... that seem the way forward ?
See I just see a Mini Hatch. It’s a graphic I doubt considering the level of detail involved that there would be a difference. Really you can tell this is a R56 over a R50. I just think it gives the indisputable MINI shape over all and that’s what we want. Regardless its not going to say to me R50 over R56 or vice versa even tweaked, its just going to say MINI.

Working on the R50 at the moment and this is where I'm at the present time, if someone wants to use this to see if the can get the outline please feel free, I could even send a copy of it in jpeg format just drop me a PM and I'll send it to them... Will try over the weekend to see if I can get it looking like the other logo, or if you see something in this that can be changed let me know... :thumbs up:

I reckon this is the one for me too. I think the 'S' has to be in RED, as it needs to stand out, which I'm not sure it does in the purple - don't want folk thinking we're selling kids' beds!Quote:

Good work Rob I think even with the R50 design it still needs a spoiler I think that's the bit it's most missing
but I do think the R56 looks better like Ali said the decals seem to fill it out more
Thanks Rob, I'll have another bash later to see what I can come up with, its trying to get something that is similar to the R56 design that is giving me a problem, but at least I'm finding out how to use my Photoshop in ways I never knew rather than just use it the simple way and probably use it as it should be, also need a decent side on photo of an R50 which I'll take later as all of mine are taken at a slight angle... :thumbs up:Quote:

Totally agree with the above the R56 design just works and looks so much better. Sorry to say but the R50 without the detail looks slightly like a old Micra :smilewinkgrin:
Sure the R50 will look just as good if we can get the detail on it. Then we will just need to decide between the 2.

Good work Rob, I took a look at a silver Mini R50 to outline and thought either its going to look pants with my PS skills or at best not much different so passed on giving it a go. To be fair the outline is less MINI as its missing the little touches. Blank as it is it could be a few cars, car shaped yes but does not smack you about the face saying “MINI” like the other version.
What from the other version just to be pedantic would a R50 bring? At best a MINI shape that I’d still consider as just a MINI shape. To me there is not enough detail on the R56 version to seriously denote its just an R56. All everyone really wants is an more up to date graphic, is it a bad thing if it is loosely a representation of what the majority of the Club are now driving. The other thing maybe being too accurate gives us a more sterile image when the other is a we bit more rougher highlighting the lights, screen, pillars, and spoiler that is just looks better and more pleasing to the eye.
I just think for a MINI shape we nailed it.
I really like the R56 graphic and I'd be happy to go with that however we have to listen to ALL parties to ensure they all get a say. :)
A decision will inevitably have to be made that will not please everyone but we have then at least taken all the opinions into consideration. Democracy not dictatorship ;)
I think we are pretty much at a stage where we have enough options to have a vote - agree Yes/No ?

:frown: Not a big fan of having the big red S at the start of the word Scotland because I think (just like Crombers) that it would kind of lead to the impression that it is an 'S' only members site, despite the fact that there are still a few of us Cooper and ONE owners still left in here :yes nod:, anyway I did some photoshopping and quite like these versions I have just tried. Opinions, good or bad welcomed :lol:

Photoshop for me.
Illustrator for me - logos have to be vector files to be used by vinyl / embroidery companies. Photoshop is for photos and it will be a pain in the arse to export this format to anything a commercial printer / embroidery company will like. It is useful for brain storming ideas quickly though.
Think Baz has created the best logos to date IMO :yes nod:
