....to convert a gen 2 mini to gen1 mini dashboard? The whole thing including the centre console or even just the centre console?

To convert would be nigh-on impossible - they are complete different cars electrically.
If you want the R53 'look' it would probably be easier to get a custom piece made
Feet were made to fit car pedals. If we were meant to walk, we'd have pogo sticks for legs
Don't think it would be possible either on a financial level or mechanical level
The cars in front are New MINI Scotland
As above can't see it being possible

Ice Blue R55 Clubvan - JCW Shiftlight, JCW Carbon Fibe Handbrake, JCW Carbon Fibre Dash, JCW Steering Wheel, Recaro JCW Sportster CS, CoolerWorx ShortShifter, BC Racing Coilovers, JCW Brembo 4pots, HEL Braided Lines, JCW Front Bumper, MINI Challenge Splitter, White Rota Blitz
hmm, was kinda thinking that might be the case but hoping it wasn't. Back to drawing board! Prefer the gen 1 mini dash, plus its easier to fit an aftermarket stereo. Gen 2 dash just sucks! Thanks for the info guys, just saved me a load of cash and probably a whole nightmare of headaches by the sounds of it!
Sounds like you need to sell up and buy an R53

lol the thought had crossed my mind!
I too much prefer the R53 dash, I'm glad I seen this as I have an R53 and a R56 and much prefer the older car but couldn't quite put my finger on why, It's 100% the dash, lol
It's really easy you swap me your 56 for my 53 lol
Hey presto 1 x gen 1 dash all neatly fitted and looking pretty
