Agreed. I know this has been discussed at length before and I still think a MINI GP or JCW with AWD would be pretty awesome. Yes it's heavier and yes it probably doesn't make a huge difference but when I was deciding what to buy in terms of a new car just recently I took the S1 Quattro out for a blast and although it didn't have the character of the Mini it didn't half get out of the corners well when putting down the power.
That said, we had the option of 4WD on our Skoda Superb and just couldn't justify the extra money for what is likely to only be a requirement for 3-4 weeks of the year if that. So I get the need for it but at the same time I don't haha
