common faults to look out for on a jcw

    Hi everyone, been looking at buying a mini jcw 2nd hand. just wanting to know if there is any common faults to look out for on them?

    one i have been looking at has just over 77k on the clock with a full service history from mini with the tlc pack.

    The most common fault with the R53 shape is the timing chain tensioner but that's a cheap fix if it go's apart from that just norm stuff really

    Power steering pump, brake calipers are the only other things I can think of..... Oh aye and sump gaskets can leak as well

    If it's a facelift, the upper engine mount goes, and the front lower rear wishbone bushes will also be gubbed


    Feet were made to fit car pedals. If we were meant to walk, we'd have pogo sticks for legs
