    why are some threads listed with a red envelope next to them? I can't work it out!

    If you go to the main forum page and then scroll down to the very bottom you will see a guide showing you what all the icons and colours mean.
    However, i think in your particular case, the red shows that you have posted in those threads, hover your mouse over the icon to check

    Eh, nope Alan, it's when the thread goes over 1 page of replies. I just did a test there. If there is a green arrow on the icon then it means you have replied .

    It's gone red as it's a "hot topic"
