But, my EBEL say's it's "Water resistant 10ATM", which I'm asuming is 10 atmosphere's. Where does that come in the 50M to 200M scale though?

    A.

Edit: After a good old Google search it looks like that means it's 100M water resistant.
Noticed your Ebel yesterday Andy, beautiful looking watch!

Reminds me of an old joke....

A very successful lawyer parked his brand new Porsche Carrera GT in front of the office, ready to show it off to his colleagues. As he got out, a truck came along too close to the curb and completely tore off the driver's door.

Fortunately, a cop in a police car was close enough to see the accident and pulled up behind the Porsche, his lights flashing. But, before the cop had a chance to ask any questions, the lawyer started screaming hysterically about how his Porsche, which he had just picked up the day before, was now completely ruined and would never be the same, no matter how hard the body shop tries to make it new again.

After the lawyer finally wound down from his rant, the cop shook his head in disgust and disbelief. "I can't believe how materialistic you lawyers are," he said. "You are so focused on your possessions that you neglect the most important things in life."

"How can you say such a thing?" asked the lawyer.

The cop replied, "Don't you even realize that your left arm is missing? It got ripped off when the truck hit you!!!"

"OH, MY GOD!" screamed the lawyer, "MY ROLEX!"

Diver's 300+ m for mixed-gas diving Suitable for saturation diving (helium enriched environment). Watches designed for mixed-gas diving will have the DIVER’S WATCH L M FOR MIXED-GAS DIVING additional marking

My favourite though is for the ladies' Cartier watches, in the literature that comes with them owners are advised to be careful not to get perfume anywhere near the watch as it can damage the internals
cheers - slightly more accurate than my "you can dunk it" comment :-)

Perfume - I'm guessing that if you have the watch on, and continue to spray perfume on your wrists then the mist will get into the internals and over time gunk it up. Would need a LOT of perfume though!

I'm only just about brave enough to dunk my 200M divers watch in the bath, never mind to wear it when swimming. Mind you, it's so heavy and I'm such a wuss, I'd be going round in circles endlessly!

Cheers for the info, 50M sounds fine as I don’t go diving but I have been swimming with my Tag on. If I can swim with it that’s fine after it’s a diving watch.

Mods - think this thread needs to be moved to Off Topic & Banter (don't think it's really holding up as a Photography thread).

Yeah, kind of agree with you there. Trouble is, any photography thread is going to drift towards discussing the subject of the photographs. So, the same could really be said about any topic raised in the Photography section.

Stuff, it, I'm taking the 5th on this one. Alan, your call.

No need to apologise Stewart, this isn't a criticism - it's great that the thread has been so popular!

I guess it doesn't really matter if it's moved or not, it just seemed the thing to do so that folk could discuss all aspects of watches without feeling the need to post any photos. Although that didn't stop Stewart .

I think this section needs the banter to keep it going, but, if anyone wants it to be kept to pictures and comments only then let me know and i'll strip the banter out

No Alan, that wasn't what I meant. I think the discussion/banter is good so just leave it please.

Forget I said anything about moving this thread .
