Can someone post up an idiots guide to first time logging onto COD4 so I can print it off and read it as I go along Ross won't be back in the hoose on Friday after all so I'll have to attempt it without the aid of a safety net

    1. To begin, go to the “Playstation Network” menu and choose Sign up for Playstation Network. This will be on you playstation dashboard and either to the far right or second from the right.

    2. Now the account creation begins. Since this is our first time signing up, choose Yes, I want to create an account.

    3. You are presented with an overview of the process and a copy of the privacy policy. Read the policy, then choose Continue

    4. Select your country, language and date of birth (see also: countries supported by PSN)

    5. You’re given the option of account type. You must have at least one Master Account. Sub Accounts can be added later, for other users of your PS3. For now, select Master AccountS. Just pick a master account.

    6. Enter sign-in information: a valid email address, password, and security question. Although you sign into PSN with the provided email, it does not get shown publicly

    7. Create an online ID. This is will be your publicly viewable username. You will be notified if the online ID you chose can not be usedScreenshot NOTE: Currently it is not possible to change your online ID once your account is created. Choose somthing like BigGordy or whatever you want .

    8. Enter your full name. Choose your gender if you wish (optional).

    9. Enter your residential address. Country/region is pre-filled by your selection from step 3.

    10. Billing information (optional). For now, select No thanks.

    11. Notification preferences. Tick either of the boxes if you’d like to receive emails or snail mail from Sony and/or affiliates.

    13. Account has been created.

    14. Select an avatar.

    15. Registration complete. Select Yes to do a survey, otherwise select No.

    16. You’re now returned to the menu. Select Sign In.

Heads up. There is a system update required as of yesterday. Perfect chance for Anyone to try the Flash Drive. I know Stoney and Zimbo have already updated.

    1. Creat a folder on the Flash Drive called PS3 it must all be in caps.

    2. Inside this folder create another folder called UPDATE again all in caps.

    3. Got to http://uk.playstation.com/help-suppo...ware/download/ and scroll to the bottom, then click Agree. The system software will download.

    4. Place the downloaded file (Should be a .pup file) inside the folder title UPDATE.

    5. Stick the flashdrive into the PS3

    6. Do the system update but select postable device. The PS3 should automatically find it on the flashdrive.

Or you could do the old fashioned way and let the PS3 do it but it does take a while as it is a 150mb (ish) update.

As if login on wasn't enough for me to contend with I've now got to install an update....... How long did it take Ali Should I just switch it all on when I get home and let it do its own thing and hope it's ready by 7.30ish

Pretty much just switch it on and it will connect and tell you it needs to update. If not...

Go to the PS3 dashboard and go to the second from the left menu. At the top should be "System update". Click that and it will take you through the install. You will have to push right on the controller to go through each step or select the option like "agree" to continue. It's pretty easy but give me a bell if you need any help.

You may need to have an account before you do this but you have the steps now to do this again, need help just call. I'll be in from about 5.45pm .

Normally the updates take between 10-30 mins.
