Anybody know how big a job time wise and cost it will be to replace the engine block on a cooper s ? The cylinders are scored, can i just replace the liners ?

Would you no just be easier getting a complete engine from a breaker.
Its an easy job to remove the engine and box in one,I agree about getting a replacement engine much easier and cheeper
No engine hoist needed just a trolley jack

it'd be a lot easier to source a complete engine or just replace the bottom end i can't remember the last time i saw a mini head off but i didn't think it had liners? like i said i don't do engine work to that degree yet

The mini does not have liners, source a block or preferrably a complete engine
lol we have tyre guys from national 2 do that... i'm more of an interior work person.., windscreens etc we don't get to do engine work of that kind of level as apprentices as it's not exactly a good idea...
