Alright Aberdeen Golfers. Which is the best course? Auchmill, Balnagask, Hazlehead 1 or 2, or Kings Links:question:

Hawkshill at Newmacher :) but only because that's where I used to be a member!

I used to like Hazelhead 1 a lot, although I've not played any of them in years. The links was too much like hard work as you needed to really have pretty good control of the ball before the wind caught it.

Balnagask & Auchmill - don't use good balls as the little kids who lived nearby used to nick them before you got to the ball! Don't know if they still do though.

You may also try this if your going to play with someone else - http://www.2-fore-1golf.com You buy a voucher for £2.50 and when you both play together you only pay for 1 person. There are quite a few nice courses round Aberdeen where you can use them. Newmacher is good but I think you'll need a handicap, Kemney is good as well, it's maturing into a nice course now.

Well since I don't have a handicap that sods me up a lil. Hmmmm. Hazelhead looked like not a ad course when I went up for a peer about. Didn't look too busy either. Looked tight though so methinks plenty of golf balls will have to be bought! :) It's an expensive business getting into golf again! New golf clubs, bag, balls, shoes... the list is endless!!!

Try Hazelhead 2 - from what I recall it's a bit more forgiving than 1, but still a lot of trees and bushes about! And you can get some good deals on balls on the web.

Last time I played Kemney I didn't have a valid handicap but they didn't ask for one.
