Led light

What is the led light on the top of the dash for, as mine doesnt seem to light up ever.

It's not a light; it's a sensor for the automatic A/C.

just looked at the owners manual, it says the sensors are on the front of the unit, page 67, and upon further inspection it does look like a led light, it sits on top of dash between the big vent and the screen :question:
