Im trying to put a route together for a run sometime next yr.
Ive got a rough idea of a route which i still need to reccie. I just got the rough distance from the AA route planner site and wanted some feedback

Is 330miles too much for a day run?, if so ill need to look into a shorter alterrnative

    Cheers Brian

Brian, in my limited experience i would say that 330 miles is a tad too much, unless you are gonna make it an early start with a stop over
So, take from that what you want

Good luck and well done for trying to organise an event, put me down for attending at this early stage

Cut down the route, route planner still saying around 280miles, which maybe too much but here is an idea of the route.

Start stirling services( big shock there)
Off the m9 juct 10 , double back into stirling
A811 to balloch, up loch lomond a wee bit(a82), over the faslane sub base construction rd (not sure of rd number), to Garelochhead, then arrochar (a814), Inveraray (A83), Up to Inverlochy via A819, crianlarich (A85-A82), Lochearnhead and onto Crieff (Finish)

Not sure where to have lunch stop etc for this route as originally i was planning to continue round from Inverary to Krinan, oban and round that way (maybe too much in a day though).

Any ideas or anyone interested in giving me a hand putting this run together for sometime next year let me know

    I'll give you a hand.

Route does sound a bit long for one day though.

Sounds like it would be best suited to an overnight stop...Oban??? Good night out to be had there. The Tartan Tavern is not to be missed!!!

Well could certainly go back to full route plan and make it a weekender.

Only at very early planning stages just now anyway
