    Hi Wul

What can I use for getting scratches of the chrome trim.

We have an incessant Thrush or similar type of bird that for some reason wants all the chrome bits on the car. And has made a right mess. It either wants them or is attacking them.

The scratches on the paint work I deal with using Megs Scratch X and polish. But the chrome bits I'm not sure.

    Cheers Neil.

I would use Autosol (metal polish) it's great at getting out scratches and gives a nice coat...

    WHOA THERE!!!

Are we talking real chrome (exhaust tip, trim at bottom of windows) or plastic chrome (front grill, bumper inserts etc).

Autosol is VERY abrasive and is a metal polish - never use it on plastic chrome as it will remove the chrome right back to the plastic.

on plastic chrome i'd try Scratch X and a coat of wax.

Be careful with Autosol though as Craig says its primeraly a metal polish and the chromy bits on the mini are plastic It could be a bit brutal if you rub to hard:dead: (ooooooo er missus) :approve:

    Its all the chrome.

    Door handles,pollen vents,window trim,mirror caps,Bonnet scoop.

    Will try the Scratch X.

We,ve managed to stop it attacking the roof with a cover.
It's even now attacking the wing mirrors on the Lexus.

    Cheers Neil
