whats the best product to blacken the skirting on the body of the car, i use Wet and Black from turtle wax (no its not from a porn film) and after its rained for a few hours it washes off or goes streaky. Any ideas what to buy ,its ok for the tyre walls as it keeps them shiney.

Wul will no doubt advise differently, but the MINI car cleaning kit has some nice exterior trim polish.

I don't know if its available separately though, but the kit is quite good IMHO.

I found that auto glym bumper care stuff worked well, white bottle, green kind of liquid stuff.
Doesnt streak and wash off in the rain like some of the other products I tried.

Aha - that's where you are wrong bold eagle!!

Hi Lesley - the MINI car care trim detailer is a great wee product(on my second bottle!!), havn't tried the autoglym stuff but heard good things about it and quelle surpise - meguairs trim detailer is good as well.

But if the products are running in the rain then you are applying too much - use a little, work it in well and once you've done the whole car, go back round with a lint free clean cloth or micro fibre towel and buff up the trim - this doesn't make it shney but removes the excess product and makes the product dry better on to your trim.

Phew - such a long post for a wee bottle!!
