Some of you may be aware that we have been experiencing some problems over the last couple of days. The chap who runs the sever has disappeared to deepest darkest Africa for three weeks (true!). The upshot of this is I can't upgrade or even move to higher bandwidth until his return.

In the meantime please be patient while waiting for the forums to load. We do aim to rectify this problem asap.

    cheers

    Calum

Just an update from my ISP:

I've spoken to the tech peeps and there is a
known problem (which is currently at top priority
level) and they are working on it all the time.

The issue surrounds ASP/Access based sites.

What has happened is that they upgraded to
Windows 2003 IIS from Windows 2000, and in doing
so have uncovered a fault with MS Access
drivers. The drivers that are required to run
ASP websites are not as robust under Windows 2003
as they were under 2003, and this is giving rise
to a number of issues. It is this rather than
bandwidth that is causing the problems - I have
been assured that there is absolutely no shortage
of bandwidth. The technicians are actively
working on this - apparently in active discussion
with Microsoft to get the problems sorted. This
is top priority for them - I've been told to
expect an update in the next few days.

So apologoes if teh forums are wee bit erratic for the next few days.

Good old Micro$oft, so much for their claims of more robust software and better checking for bugs etc
