wanting to get rid of rust and get a respray but unsure what colour to get. I suppose i should keep it a blue colour to match the interior but what blue to go for?:clown:

Ideas and suggestions are much appreciated!

I like the Dark Indi Blue that was available until the facelift, and there was a similar BMW-Rover Dark Blue.

Or for something a bit different, how about Electric Blue? Can't remember a bright blue like that on a classic, although i'm sure i'll be proved wrong :)

There are a couple of nice turqoise (is that how you spell it?) blue colours on classic Minis.
One is a kind of matt colour - I think from the oldest models. The other is a nice metallic greeny-blue, from some of the later models.
I'm sorry, my knowledge is very limited, and doesn't stretch to colour names or paint codes! :I

    Have fun finding out though!

Current MG/Rover Trophy blue looks superb on classic Minis. If you want a "genuine" classic Mini blue then Rover Tahiti blue looks great.
It's current Pearlescent Caribbean Blue is very unusual and therefore different so you might want to stick with that (might be cheaper as interior respay not required)

I was looking on ebay for inspiration and saw a classic in electric blue ..... AMAZING but think it'l be a tad expensive!! :)

Yes Ewan - very similar indeed!
Orville is actually a Lotus colour - but I don't know the details. (And isn't green - despite the name!)
However, that one is much more shiney.......

If you want an earlier colour you could try pageant blue available around the 1979 era. My 1000 is sprayed in this and I really like it. depends what style you end up going for.
