    OK as I am sure most of you must be aware the new mini D has now hit the streets.

    I had the pleasure of driving John Clarks demo car yesterday and it was indeed a pleasure.

    I started it up and heard the usual deisel sound and thought this is going to be crap But how wrong was I.

    It is a great wee car it has not got the acceleration of the Petrol models but the it does not have the thirst of the Petrol models either.

    I took it out the A90 first of all and at a steady 70 you would not know the difference between that and a petrol mini.

    Then off to the back roads for a slightly harsher test and again its not as fast as my Cooper but it was very good indeed.

    If anyone wants a diesel then I would certainly recomend the Mini.:)

    How do you define a "slightly harsher test drive"?!?!?!?!?! I've seen you on those back roads!
