Had the car in to mechanic a wee kor so ago for the once over before the dealer warranty runs out.

Got the all clear, but the only thing is I mentioned there was a metallic rattling coming from the front when going over bumps.
Turns out brand new front brake pads been put in by the dealer before the car was brought up to me from down South...........this being said they are seemingly the chepast brake pads that can be put in, and the housing is that clean that there is no brake dust.

This is the reason for the 'rattling'.

It's now getting to the annoying stage, and one of those annoying sounds for the owner that you know is there and are more aware of than anybody else in the car.

My question is, if I jump up to better front brake pads will it cure the annoying noise, or is there any other way to solve this?
The mechanic did say I could just drive and brake a bit harder to build up some dust! lol

    Thanks

Hw was in amongst every nook and cranny with a torch so checked it all.
He was moving the wheels around while on the ramp rocking them back and forth as well and thats when he sourced the problem from the brake pad housing.
