Picking up a 2013 Paceman tomorrow morning.
Its the 2.0 diesel Cooper S one .............so I know from previous Mini S' I had its exhaust wont be popping and crackling........something I was addicted to before.

How can I get it to be like the prev ones?

Simple answer...you won’t . Diesel engines are CI ,petrol are ignited by a spark .
The cars in front are New MINI Scotland
