    Hi Everyone,

I hope someone can help me,
    I have just bought a 2010 mini cooper S.
I had a mechanic check many cars for me and most were sub standard and found one.
    He didnt find any faults.

However after a few days I was driving along and the engine came on at the rev counter, it was an engine light with a diagonal line half filling the symbol.
The engine light did not come on the speedo in the centre
I pulled over and call the AA.

He plugged in the diagnostic which told him that it was an oil pressure issue.
It somehow disappeared and when he went to check it again the fault had gone.
He check the engine and there were no signs of an oil leak.

I started the car and drove it home.

Since then it has happened 3 more times, each time the engine loses power and it seems the fuel is shut off as it doesn't rev and the engine stops.
Has anyone had a similar problem and knows a solution.

I have not taken it to my mechanic yet.
He speculated that it could be an oil filter issue.

If anyone has had a similar experience it would be very helpful to know.

    Thank you!

Very hard to say without knowing what the fault code is. Sounds like the car is going into limp mode.

You need one of the bluetooth OBD2 adapters, that will allow you to read the codes generated by the ECU

Feet were made to fit car pedals. If we were meant to walk, we'd have pogo sticks for legs
