So six weeks ago today Oby felt a bit hot headed and had a melt down. Ended on the back of a recovery truck feeling sorry for himself.

Got phone call from garage with very bad news, Oby well and truly sick . This was the start of a very long list of things wrong.

To get Oby feeling better and running again the following had to be replaced

-The cylinder head had to be skimmed
    -Head gasket set
    -Timing chain kit
    -Water pump
    -Thermostat housing
    -Oil filter
    -Radiator
    -Fan belt
    -Screws
    -Bolts
    -Engine oil
    -Anti freeze

After replacing all of the above Oby was still developing issues. So was taken to auto electrician as garage thought there was a fault with the electronic thermostat but no fault found. So was then taken to MINI Dealership for further investigation as genuine MINI parts were used.

FINALLY the route of all the issues above was caused by cracked (hairline crack) header tank.

One cheap part cause 100’s of pounds ££££ worth of damage. Garage said that it was something we would never of known that would happen no telltale signs before hand.

So picked Oby up today and he will getting lots of much needed TLC before Mega MINI Meet.

Here’s to many more happy miles in Oby.

So sorry to hear of your car woes!
You’ve finally got it sorted, but wow, certainly took some time, 6 weeks without your baby...
    Bloomin’ header tank.
Looking forward to seeing you both at MMM!!
Mine, a replacement for the plastic one decided to pee coolant all over the place when it went last year. Thought it may be a pipe that’d take forever to locate and fix. Turned out to be a few pinholes...
