...as above, only had car a matter of months and eml on. My mechanic guy says reader says various sensors, pressure in exhaust and something else I can't remember, but he is a vw specialist and said if it was a vw he would suspect egr valve. Is this a big job? Expensive? I have read you can do egr delete somewhere? Car drives spot on, no flat spots, returns great mpg...would I be better starting with exhaust sensors etc..? Advice greatly apptrciated

Think you need to have it looked at by a independent specialist or Mini dealer as this can work out cheaper in the long run
The cars in front are New MINI Scotland

Arnold Clark, from whence it came, are looking at it on Wednesday, although it is three days out of warranty!! They said they might put it up to mini of they can't narrow fault down

Anyone recommend a mini specialist in Scotland? The dealer couldn't be more helpful, took off an exhaust sensor and cleaned it all, no charge, light off...for a day...but it's still running like perfectly although light on. I am minded to start with the sensors as the weather was cats and dogs foul and the light initially came on after a run in foul weather, maybe a connection? Dealer has looked at with no charge although three days outside warranty but I would rather use someone who knows these cars

Arnold Clark are putting it to Kirckaldy mini as a warranty job. I know they get a lot of flack but I can't praise them enough so far, extremely helpful and understanding, even giving me a courtesy car for a week. Hopefully get to the bottom of it. Car drives perfectly, no flat spots or hesitation, returns great mpg, hopefully it's a stupid sensor or something.

Arnold Clark...These guys get a lot of stick. But. Credit where it's due. The eml came on in my wee diesel mini about a month ago, no problem with car, drove fine, but eml on nonetheless. I took it back to them to ask what I could do, turns out I was three days out of warranty period. They looked at it, removed exhaust sensors, cleaned them all, and gave me car back. A day later problem returned. They took car back on Monday, sent to Harry fairbairn mini in kirckaldy, 35 miles away, gave me a courtesy car for week and put both my name and my daughters on insurance. Received text yesterday, car ready to pick up, job sheet shows new exhaust sensor and a small pipe replaced just behind turbo, light out, car runs great.

No charge for any of above. Service manager said, oh no, you have barely got comfy in it, we wouldn't charge for that
