Hi guys, thanks for the add. Just a quick intro before I start asking shed loads of questions n stuff.. Bought Mini Cooper S r56 about 6 months ago and so far like it. Few things are annoying me, hence joining the forum (learn the dos n donts). Two major bugbears are the harsh ride quality on our terrific roads in Aberdeen area and the crappy sound system. Will be tackling the rear/front crossover mod real soon for starters on stereo. Will also ditch the run flats when they are done.

Welcome I'm also from the North East. Definitely get rid of the run flats the ride is relatively firm. My R56 is on lowering springs so even firmer. When I had KW coilovers the car was incredibly comfortable so if you do still want a better ride after getting shot of the RFs a good quality set of coilovers make an enormous difference

Welcome from another Aberdeenshire resident. As you've realised, the crossover mod makes a big difference and well worth doing.

You're right about the ride quality, it's shocking IMO for OEM. Ditching the runflats will help, but the only way to really fix it is to junk the standard suspension. I've got a standard R56, and an R53 on coils and the R53 rides so much better

Feet were made to fit car pedals. If we were meant to walk, we'd have pogo sticks for legs
