I've decided to go ahead and get the Zeemax kit fitted but it'll be in two or three months though... Does anyone know if Zeemax can fit the kit themselves or will i have to pay for carrige and then have some local garagehead do it?
My kit was fitted by Zeemax which can be a bit of a pain as they are in Norfolk but there is no doubt in my mind that the body shop he uses know what they are doing afterall they have fitted a few and as Julz can tell you the kit can be a bit of a nightmare for normal bodyshops to fit.

Mind you I think Zeemax charge through the nose

I also fitted his exhaust but its not up to much I've now fitted a different one.

If you're going to get the zeemax its best to go to someone thats confident enough to do it, and Julz recommendation is a good bet. You're probably gonna want to go to someone that specialises in complex jobs like this, someone like SG bodyworx, although they've never replied to a single email i sent em.

The zeemax stainless exhaust (dual exit) not too good? I'm was looking for something (ideally 4exit) that would sound the ab.nuts when driving. If i could choose i'd like to have the minisport SE Dual exit system with removable silencers, however, this is only available for the S and wouldnt suit my MO.:(:( I dont suppose anyone has an idea where i can get a similar exhuast to this but for my MO?

The MiniSport SE is made by a company called Blueflame - I have one and it looks and sounds fantastic, and I bought it direct and saved myself nearly 200 quid over the minisport price (rip off b*strds).

Last time I spoke to Nigel at blueflame they hadnt done a Cooper version but maybe if you email him he will let you know if they have now or if he will do a custom job for you.

Blueflames website is http://www.blueflameperformance.com/ and the phone number is 01695 733100 and ask for Nigel.

My exhaust is a Powerflow one fitted in Turriff! I wouldn't recommend it, I have had to fork out for Peco to customise 2 bax boxes to reduce my 6 silencers to 5 and it's still too loud! The quality of fitting was excellent, it's just the noise I can't handle! My ears were still ringing 3 hours after the journey from Blackpool! Still, try turriff tyres and see what they can do!

As for fitting the kit... try Derek at DSG, he did a fantastic job on mine and might be willing to do another, he's a one-man band and very busy but that's because he is very good. He's based in Dundee but would definately be worth a try 01382 880045 or 07720 705741.

But I do emphasise the fact that this kit is very wide and very delicate and you will have to start driving like a granny as this kit does crack very easily and really does take the fun out of owning a go-kart!:(

My manifold is playmini the back bit is a MiniSport SE. Now that I have a 275bhp conversion I have been advised not to tone down the exhaust it now sounds like a formula 1 car.

Is there a exhaust that looks similar that will do the same job but not as loud.

Talking about those (rip off b*strds)Minisports.:mad::mad::mad:

Well I can only tell you of my dealings with them which may be different to others and I can not tell you not to deal with them but hear is my story and you can decide for yourself.

Now Allan and I are not technical people when it comes to the mechanics of a car.

We took the car down to MiniSport in July and left it for a week they were putting on new Alloys and fitting powerflex bushes and the exhaust typhoon air filter.

While the car was down they phoned to say that they could increase the bhp by 25bhp for £900 pounds were we interested we said yes.

The following week when we picked the car up and started the car up we now had a sound like a loose fan belt we asked Minisport is that right and the quote was yeh that's ok it just moisture on the pulley it will go away well it didn't we asked them again about a week later and they still said it was moisture.

Well the guys who done the new conversion have told me the following:

The manifold fitted from playmini is very good.
Minisport have used the wrong tool to take the pulley off and the camshaft minisport used in not compatiable with a works head.
Because the wrong tool was used to take the pulley of it was twisted which meant when it went back on it was out off balance the teflon blades were touching and wareing which in turn F*@CKED the supercharger.

they also say it is not the first car they have had to sort out after being a minisport.

Minisport say it's a load of rubbish all the parts they use are first class and compatiable. They want to see the parts but what they don't know is I have had another independent (BMW) to check them over.
Minisport will not acknowledge any blame.
I'm not leaving it at that I will send the parts down and I will persue this.

I dare say the rolling road wouldn't have helped either but they hit the roof when I suggested that.

This has been a very expensive lesson £895.00 for a new supercharger and has left a foul taste in my mouth.

However it is up to each individual who they do business with.

scottiecoop, please dont take offense at this, but why the **** did you spend £10grand on a 275bhp conversion on your S and the zeemax kit when you could have had a lot more power than that from another car? lol. even i wouldnt do that if i had the cash. you could have got a twin turbo'd 350z pushing out 450 bhp for that. you have to take me for a ride some time.

It's not a case of what you can buy, it's what you want!
I've spent over £30k on my car and I know there's plenty of more powerful cars I could have spent the money on, but I haven't cause I love my little baby!:I

Fiona, really sorry to hear about what's happened! Have you exposed them on mini2 cause that'll hit them where it hurts, their main market!!

have you pushed the car to see how well it handles the 275bhp? what tires do you have on your front wheels and how well do they handle the power and grip the road? also have you had a break conversion too? i take it your warranty is nonexistant now...

i remember seeing the 275bhp BBR test car on top gear and it did look amazing flying around that test track.
