Hi I have a R50 Cooper and wanting to renew the gaiters how do I remove the gear knob ?

Put it in 2nd or 4th and pull hard. Easier to do sitting in the back.

Don't hit yourself in the face with it!

Feet were made to fit car pedals. If we were meant to walk, we'd have pogo sticks for legs

When I did mine in GP1499 I put it in second, straddled the handbrake, with my back facing the rear of the car, put on my old motorbike helmet and gripped the old gearknob with all the strength I had.
The old gearknob then popped of as easy as you like.

    Oh, how I laughed.

If only you had been spotted by the local press, can you imagine the headlines
