Chris Knott Insurance

I insured our two Audis with Chris Knott yesterday.
They offered the best prices for modified cars that I could find, Adrian Flux sadly, not being particularly interested in retaining the business with their pricing and attitude.
They now insure all three of our cars and are a pleasure to deal with. Best policy offerings, no hang ups on mileage either.
Now if they insure bikes as well...
I'm hoping that come renewal time for the GP, the price will be equally competitive, as I've not stayed with the same insurer for any of our cars for consecutive years, because of the pricing.
Still cannot understand why insurers offer unrealistic renewal prices, surely it's cheaper/less effort to retain an existing customer than have them leave and having to attract new business to replace it...?

You would think so, wouldn't you? Just doesn't seem to work that way, they don't give a fig about giving existing customers a good deal to keep them - when you know they have scope to drop the price to keep your business if pushed

    Exactly!
Unless there's some perverse incentivisation in gaining new business over existing business retention!?
Such a waste of people's time. There must be a ratio of people that meekly accept renewals that makes it profitable...

The folk in the call centre will probably get a bonus for each new signup. They should do a loyalty bonus instead IMO
