    ....to convert a gen 2 mini to gen1 mini dashboard? The whole thing including the centre console or even just the centre console?

    To convert would be nigh-on impossible - they are complete different cars electrically.

    If you want the R53 'look' it would probably be easier to get a custom piece made

    Don't think it would be possible either on a financial level or mechanical level

    hmm, was kinda thinking that might be the case but hoping it wasn't. Back to drawing board! Prefer the gen 1 mini dash, plus its easier to fit an aftermarket stereo. Gen 2 dash just sucks! Thanks for the info guys, just saved me a load of cash and probably a whole nightmare of headaches by the sounds of it!

    I too much prefer the R53 dash, I'm glad I seen this as I have an R53 and a R56 and much prefer the older car but couldn't quite put my finger on why, It's 100% the dash,lol
