Hello all, I have been viewing from a distance for a little while and can I say what a cracking forum this is ! Plenty of friendly advice and folks always willing to help.
Anyway this thread should be about me introducing myself, where do I start ?
I caught the Mini bug in 2003 with this little beauty

This stayed pretty much untouched although the stereo and sound system were uprated.

The need for practicality took over and had a couple of years break from Mini but then the requirement for a second car was back. The only car my wife and I could settle on was
When the time came to change this one it was on 30mm lowering springs, completely new sound system, mostly de-chromed inside and out but just as I was getting the modding bug, the gearbox packed in and needed re-building things were beginning to get expensive on running repairs, so time for the newer model

This was the day I picked it up and below was taken last night

An R56 SD getting less and less chrome. I didn't intend to go all black (stealth) but we'll see where I end up ! It's Sitting on coilovers, with many JCW dials, gear lever and hand brake handle. It doesn't sound like much and I'm sure I've done much more to this but I'll start a build thread at some point as I'm after a bit of SD tuning advice to get extra beans from the engine.
    Anyway, must dash,
    Cheers
    Ian

Thank you, I was trying to persuade the wife to get a FJCW but she argued Sd, we looked at all and when the right spec came up, it was an SD. Hey ho, it's surprised a few people with the torque that it has

Hi Ian, welcome to NMS, great to have you on board. We've got a few members from down South, where are you based?

Great collection of Mini's and I'm a sucker for the R56 S/SD with the JCW Aero Kit, one of the best combo's I think for the Mini even today!

    Thanks for the welcome

I couldn't let the spec of this pass me by, HK, Media, lounge leather, sunroof. I think the only thing it doesn't have that was on the list (other than recaro's) was a heated screen.

I'm not a stones throw from Newcastle.

Great stuff, that is a decent spec for sure.

I have relatives in Whitley Bay and North Shields so I'm down that way maybe twice a year. Chances of a spot are extremely slim but you never know :)

You only need two tools in life WD40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should use WD40 and if it moves and shouldn't use Duct Tape.
