    Hi,
I've got a flat-bottomed steering wheel for an R53 for sale.
I bought it from Paul Miller earlier in the month and unfortunately it doesn't my GP!
    Doh!
The airbag release clips/mounts are not in the correct place for the airbag that's on my steering wheel.

It's also a blacker colour than my airbag.
I've not even tried to fit it, as it was obvious that after removing my airbag it wouldn't fit.
    Paul had it retrimmed.
I'm just looking to get back what I paid for it, £250.

I've noticed a couple of small marks at the bottom of the wheel that I've tried to show in the second photo.

    Thanks for looking.

Is it a custom steering wheel T ?
Straight fit to R53 but not a GP ?

No idea, if I'm honest Davy.
It's the one that you (and I think Stoney?) were interested in on FB Mini for sale in early Feb.
    It's the same wheel.
I took a punt as I fancied a flat-bottomed wheel for my car.
He said that it's an R53 wheel, but the release for the airbag is at 6 o'clock, not at 10 and 2 o'clock like the GP, as I found out.
Looks and feels nice, unfortunately doesn't fit the GP.
I'm in no desperate hurry to get shot of it, so if it interests you, or anyone, it's sitting here boxed up going nowhere at the mo.

I'm wondering if it's been made from a 2 spoke wheel and not an 3 spoke as the clips are different places for the 2

The GP wheel is a standard 3 spoke wheel I upgraded to a full leather jcw wheel when I had mine. But took it off and sold it when sold the GP gutted as there rear in full leather most are leather and alcontra

Don't know, he said it was for his R53 which was a 2005 model, but he's now sold it for an R55 (?) I think.

It all seems to be made as one piece, as in 3-spoke, my two control inserts fitted no problem when I tried them.

I don't know enough about the R53s to be able to shed any light...

It was bought as a three spoke which was modified with the flat bottom being added. Tried it on my car and fitted fine, just took it off as I had bought the R55 and so was selling as standard, have spoke to them about getting one made for the new car. Sorry for your problems bud

Looks like an r56 wheel to me. I believe they'll fit on an r53 but you need the airbag from an r56 too due to the different location on the airbag release clips.
