I bought a Nikon D7100 about a year ago, I had been trying to justify a DSLR for ages but decided a wee trip round the world and a couple of weeks in the Isle of Man for the Classic TT was a good enough reason to buy one. There were various reasons why I picked the D7100 the main reasons being performance and that it has a cropped sensor (ie. It's not full frame) which makes it lighter, this suited me as due to my illness and my back problems.
If I was buying it now though I think I would opt for the D7200 due to its slightly better performance. Being able to download pictures using WIFI could also be handy but I would imagine downloading is quicker by connecting the SD card to either your tablet or laptop.
I'm happy with the pictures I'm taking considering I'm just teaching myself as I go along, the following are three pictures from the Classic TT / Manx GP
Braddan Bridge, William Dunlop on a Norton Rotary and Dan Cooper on a 4 valve Manx Norton.
This is just after the bend at the end of Cronk-Y-Voddy where I would imagine the bikes are doing 150-160 MPH. I'm sitting on the verge with some fresh air for protection if something goes wrong !!!
and a picture from Yosemite National park
If you want to try the camera, give me a shout.
Really nice pics Andy ,was out looking at DSLR's today and no further forwards
