Well........that was all a bit silly from Vale I know he's a bit pee'd off with Marquez right now but he didn't have to make it soooooooooooo obvious did he. Think that's him blown his chance of winning the title now, starting from the back next race, and he only has himself to blame....sad that someone with so much tallent felt he needed to resort to that to prove a point. I feel a bit let down by him to be honest. Thought he was better than that.

I think it was a rash move that went wrong and that made it much worse. What I though happened was:

    - Rossi thought he would push Marquez up to, or even off, the side of the track, to make a point. It was fascinating that Pedrosa said up to that point Rossi had done nothing wrong, since he was free to take whatever cornering line he wanted (ie, in reality, pushing another competitor over the track edge is only a crime if it looks intentional).
    - As Rossi pushed Marquez, Marquez banged into him - impossible to tell if this was an instinctive balancing action by Marquez or maybe intentional (one for the conspiracy theorists).
    - When banged into, Rossi instinctively put his knee out to push Marquez off him - this too is instinctive when riding as two bikes cannot stay in contact and remain balanced.
    - Putting his knee out Rossi hit Marquez's brake lever and so knocked him off.

I don't suggest Rossi was blameless, but I saw nothing to suggest that knocking Marquez off was intentional, so the penalty seems fair - though applying the penalty to the next race looks like the stewards not being willing to decide the championship on the result of their actions.
