Angus - Check out the classy graphics topic. Someone got some stripes from Apex signs and fitted them themselves.

    Angus,
Over on MINI2 just now there is a lot of talk about the 'genuine stripes' - they now have a little marking on them to show they are genuine, but it looks awful. More like a tear in the stripe!
John over at Apex in Edinburgh is the ideal man to sort you out with a set of quality stripes. Plus he'll probably take a lot more care with the fitting than your dealer :).

I found a picture I liked on the Cooper Flags web site, printed it out, and took it to a local signwriter in Kirkintilloch, who charged me about a quarter what BMW would have charged, they are well made and fitted, and nicer than the standard BMW vipers! :)

John at apex signs is a saint. I got some black stripes from him and fitted them myself. The fitting was easy peesy and there are no bubbles whatsoever. They were only £15 and the quality is great. Go get some you know you want to.

You can get different styles of stripes - mine have white pinstripes down each side. Fitted by John at Apex in Edinburgh.

I bought stripes online (website is no longer running though as far as i know) and then got Apex to fit them for me.
Cost around 30 quid for the stipes and fitting.
Mine were more curved than the BMW ones and had pinstipes on either side of the main stripe.

Also had a chequer roof done by apex
