How much oil ?

    How much oil dose the R53 take when changing the oil long story but mini won't do it for me unless I pay them when I have a service left n the TLC !! So doing I my self any pointers ??

    4.5L when changing oil with oil filter.

    You will need the big socket for removing the oil filter cover.

    Put a Dimple in when you're doing it, and make sure you use an OEM filter - aftermarket ones are notorious for not sealing correctly.

    Might as well do the gearbox oil when you're there too

    Got a filter when I was at mini so it's OEM :) thanks Ian what size socket is the filter ??

    Cant remember exactly but its huge.

    You may have one anyway for doing your belts.
    Dont overtighten it though as its made of ali.
