Sid Watkins the pioneer of F1 safety nowadays sadly passed away yesterday , I think he did an amazing job bringing safety to the forefront of F1 and possibly many other motorsports as well.

I watched the BBC programme 'The Killing Years' a few months back and couldn't believe how bad some of the circuit owners were back in the 60's/70's Jackie Stewart was the main instigator in getting them all to change there mind set on driver/spectator safety but Sid Watkins certainly played his part in it become what it is today. Sad day indeed
