I knew it was meant in jest and I wasn't 'annoyed' as such, just didn't want folks thinking I was swanning around like Lord Muck - that would ruin my 'Socialist Credentials'!
I know exactly what you mean about your MINI Re. your Dad. I got mine 3 weeks before my Mum died (sudden and unexpected), so she never even got a run in it. She did sit in it (pre-Works chairs!) and pronounced the car "Lovely!". She loved all my MINIS, and soft git that I am, I keep a wee 'memento' of hers in the glove box, so she's with me in spirit every time the car goes out.
Probably telling me to SLOW DOWN...
