I'm planning to do another "Fife Fryer" to Anstruther next year - initial thoughts are a different start venue (due to forth bridge roadworks) and late April date
Will also rerun the Deeside run later in the year probably Sept - Oct
Also happy to do the Perthshire run again sometime mid-year

I love going on the runs and have also really enjoyed organising them
Using Google maps or similar for initial planning, and combining initial scouts with other journeys we were making anyway have proved a good way to keep organising costs down.
We do the full recce in Helens diesel fiesta and make a day out of it.

I agree Malcolm - a longer run with a stop over allows more socialising and also gets us to parts of the country a bit too far away for one day runs.
Would be interesting to know how many folk would be keen on this type of run. I've got some ideas (as always )

I'm also joining the "going slower" gang, as I think that drivers miss so much on a run, concentrating only on the "long medium and short" drivers views. I also feel going at pace, which any Mini driver will want to do, me included, is something that is better done on your own. With 10 to 20 cars in convoy it is always a risk, especially if anyone is outwith their comfort zone. Agree with Alan's comments on this and because of everyone's attitude and committment, NMS record to date is excellent, thank God.

It's a long time since we organised a run, so will give some thought to doing one in the spring. Saying that, have just booked our long awaited road trip to Lake Garda via The Ring and Davos to Stelvio. Really looking forward to it. If anyone knows of any other "passes" that are in the locality, let me know.
You're not doing that the last 2 weeks in June are you!? I'm doing Spa-Nurburgring-Stuttgart-Stelvio-Lake Garda-Maranello-Monaco-Reims and home

Feet were made to fit car pedals. If we were meant to walk, we'd have pogo sticks for legs

Sounds epic Gordon and what I'm planning for the following year. Please share your route if you don't mind

    Alford-Hull, overnight ferry to Rotterdam
    Rotterdam-Spa-Nurburgring
    Nurburgring-Stuttgart
    Stuttgart-Stelvio (plus others)-Lake Garda
    Non-driving day
    Lake Garda-Maranello-Nice
    Day about Monaco
    Nice-Dijon (probably)
    Dijon-Reims-Rotterdam
    Home

is the rough plan at the moment. Apart from the Stelvio day, looking to keep the driving to under 4 hours a day, with a couple of rest days inbetween

Gordon, we are booked from 26th May to 8th June, as follows. I would organise quickly, because we had difficulty getting some of the hotels we wanted.

26th Ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam
27/28th 2 days at The Ring staying at The Tiergarden (Sabine's Mom's place)
29th Hotel Bayerischer Hof at Lindau on Lake Constance, which is a short way from
Davos to Stelvio to Lake Garda
30th to 5th Astoria Park Hotel in Riva
    6th Hotel Rosenof near Waldesch
    7th Ferry back to Newcastle.

Intend to do a couple of "runs" from Riva up into the Dolomites and a few trips arround the Lake, mainly half day outings. Really looking forward to it.

I'm also trying to book Mom and I a run on the BMW Ring Taxi, but they ain't taking bookings for 2012 yet. I did it last time with the delightful Sabine (she doesn't do it anymore) and it was oh so nice in many different ways

Honestly, you dont like East Fortune Air Museum? Have you been in the last couple years? Its been done up a fair bit and new exhibits and its really rather good. Concorde tour is excellent as is the forward fuselage of the 707 in traditional BOAC livery. They took delivery a couple years ago of a B.A BAC1-11 which is outside and public now get access to the restoration hanger.
