    only time i have seen the speedo near the rev counter is with the factory sat nav - as in my car

    Doh, John just beat me to that one. After my earlier post I remembered one of the cabriolets at Arbroath having weird dials - and was just looking through go Mini and Mini2 to find pics of it.

    does it not spoil one of the interior's best features. I find the big speedo is one of the things everyone admires. The smaller one wouldn't look the same at all.
    Also can anyone tell me if the satnat can be fitted retrospectively? I quite fancy it but thought it a bit pricey. Is there any good alternatives?

    Yes there are some nice alternative GPS satnavs based on Pocket PCs - you can see mine on this page

    There is also the new all in one TomTom GO details here
