    I know what you mean Malcolm, but our 125i hasn't worn at all over the cross bars. I know some of the MINI convertibles had this trouble though. I seem to remember VintageB3 had repeat trips to the dealer to get it fixed.

    Thing is, at the end of the day, these are "concept" shots, so the finished article may have a more refined finish to the hood. I guess time will tell.

    And again, like the coupe, beauty is in the eye of the beholder - we LOVE the look of the soft top and don't think it looks wrong or unsightly or even remotely like a pram. At least, no more than the likes of a boxster, etc.

    Hopefully they'll iron out the prominent 'roof-up ridges' before they sign off the final production version.

    Why isn’t the coupe / roadster one car, it looks like the roof should be a foldable metal one but for some reason it isn’t


    It's bad workmanship / design by Mini, they should really give the brand something special and unique, it will sell no matter what the added cost and lack of boot just look and the current New Mini

    I don't mind the Coupe but couldn't see me having one over a standard Mini as for me the looks dont make me go 'wow' and the performance is not materially different.

    I am however really liking the look of the Roadster which is a real surprise for me as cant think of another convertible I would want as I have always preferred tin tops.

    I'm really liking the look of that.

    We're not sure about this manual opening/closing roof, but need to see it in the flesh to make a proper decision on it.

    I would guess if this is available spring next year, it will be in the showrooms Feb / March time.

    See I like that as I never liked the rear of the Mini in convertible form it just looked not great in my mind.

    Mini as it was. As it is. As it always will be. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, it's up to you to decide if it counts!
