Seems fair to keep Roadster specific chat to it's own thread, rather than hi-jacking Ken's Coupe thread...

This model is planned for 2012. I don't think it's officially been confirmed as a model yet, but the Coupe was only just officially launched and pics of the Coupe and Roadster have both been floating around for a while now.

Does this look stunning or what?

No disrespect to those who own a current convertible, we even considered one ourselves before we bought the 125i Convertible. But I just don't think this is anything like as attractive as the Roadster pics above.

Not even in the same league. The roadster is just stunning. I came close to ordering a works convertible too Andy but obviously opted for the hatch.

It's interesting how the concepts look nice and low, minimal wheelgap in the first pic, then when production starts it looks like they're on stilts!

Feet were made to fit car pedals. If we were meant to walk, we'd have pogo sticks for legs

It's one of those that looks great with the roof down but not as great with it up which is unfortunate as that how it'll look most of the time. As someone said in the other thread, it looks like a TT with the roof up. I bet they sell tons of it though...

I know this sounds daft but if they had given it a bench rear seat maybe , but I couldn't get it having the wee one at home. I seriously would love it though. My works is a 3 year deal so I have 2 years to wait by which time it will be either the R56GP, countryman JCW or who knows maybe there will be a new 4 seater soft top.

I say this however I think when I see this in flesh logic will go out the window.

NO Greig, not the Countryman JCW. That is just SO wrong! I dread to think what Mr. Cooper would think of that if he were alive today.

I always think that's the case, as I mentioned on the Coupe thread. Lowering springs would take care of that though. The more I see these pictures, the more I think that the Roadster is better resolved design-wise than the Coupe. There's something about the Coupe's roof that just doesn't gel for me, but this looks pretty good, especially roof-down.
