We have occasionally heard a grating noise when dropping third to second, it seemed to happen when there was no braking at the same time. I have tried to replicate the speed etc but will only occasionally get this noise.

Any one give me some advice?

Sounds like the clutch and flywheel issue I had on both of my R56s.... Does it sound a bit like grinding as you lift the clutch, but just before the clutch bites? If so then it was a modified fly wheel and clutch that they replaced, twice ! I could replicate it every time if changing down at higher revs

    Best of luck
