In reality, I suppose driving that thing will make your JCW even more special to drive! I know when I drive the Mrs Clio, then jump back into my S, I get a huge grin again!!

Ha, ha - nice wind-up Craig . I'm just catching up with new posts after getting back from holiday and was frantically clicking through the pages of this thread looking for the photos! It's not exactly what I expected but very nice none the less .

ma Dad did like a wee windup, so gotta carry on the family tradition.

after about 50 miles in it now, it's really nice for a cheapish motor... lots of toys and that in it - crackin car.

When I've been driving the wee Peugeot for a couple of weeks (it's a great car for trundling about back and forth to work or for the shopping - I can actually get the messages in the boot!), getting back into the MINI's like road-testing a Porsche 911 - except the MINI's engine's not in the boot... which is handy, 'cos there's no room for it, especially if you've been shopping.... anyway you know what I mean.

The S feels even more special after driving an 'ordinary' car - makes you appreciate it even more. Nowadays when I'm driving the MINI, I'm usually doing a decent run, like NMS, going on hols up North or off somewhere visiting friends etc etc, which does the car - and me - a power of good. It can do the 'mundane' stuff perfectly well, but it comes into it's own when you use it for FUN!

    Man, I need a new job :(
New job!!! ................ na you don't

Here's the secret but don't go telling everyone ......................

What you do is go buy a MINI, simples enough so far eh

Then you go & pay for it 'in full', again not hard but may take you 12/24/36 ....... (you get the drift) to do so (roughly ). This bit can become troublesome as you may now need to get your MINI MOT'd & run around without (everyone ready....................)
A WARRANTY (some on here will by now have gone from slighty dizzy to 'passed out')

Then what you do is go by a Punto to add to your fleet
You dinna need to neccessarily go & buy a feckin brand new one but hey ho Craig's mum's special.
My wee Ferrari Punto cost me £2250 in September 2008 & is now 7 years old with 57000ish miles on the clock (was 39000ish when i got her). Mine has the 'brutish' 1.2 60bhp motor which propels it to 62mph in about ..................... 4th gear .
Just had her MOT'd last month & this time got 2 advisories (previous MOT's required feck all fook all). Apparently my front discs (why I say this I don't really know as there ARE only 'front' discs) are 'slighly' pitted and my back box has a tiny wee toty hole in it, hum ho
This year The FP (as we will now refer her as) went to Bristol & back. 80mph (sorry plod) at 3500rpm with the tranny up at volume 18ish .................. Sorted

Whilst I'm at it, I'm still on the same steering rack, the same steering column & the same power steering pump that were fitted in the FP factory, so much for Fiat (un)reliability issues (that's me jinxed the thing now). Going back to the MINI I'm actually a tad unchuffed at the mo. B!oody rear pads need changing. Feckin light came on the other week/month!! Only got 65000ish miles out of the factory set. Fookin disgrace compared to my wee FP

So there's the secret to everlasting motoring enjoyement folks, go buy a Fiat Punto for everyday chores (& park it wherever the feck you want) then when you do go & get your MINI out for a spin it feels like a 612 Scaglietti (ish!!!! )
