did you have the car from new?

if you have recently bought it, the car might have AUC warranty on it.

    WTF!!!

I knew the power steering pump was £costly but

Thus far I've had the steering rack, steering column & power steering pump all replaced under warranty (power steering pump was a tad different as my car was 4 years old when this went & I managed to get the part for nowt if I was prepared to pay for the fitting at £90ish quid, thanks to Douglas Park haggling with BMW Customer service - worth a try), how much would all that have cost I wonder?

The steering on the MINI is brilliant but 'may' come at a cost if you are keeping an older variant
