Okay guys i'm hoping you can all point me in the right direction!

I'm looking for a classic that is not too rusty and easily restorable by myself in time for me being able to drive. And the budjet is £500

    Cheers!

hi baz try going onto the mini clan website http://www.miniclan.com/ and join their forum and put your request to them and see what turns up. my ad vice tho would be to try and save up some more money and try and get one about the £1000 mark and also try to get it with a years mot as well. and how much restoration will you be planning to do to the car most of the mechanicals are pretty simple but for a £500 budget you might need to do a fair bit of cutting and welding.

hope you find an ideal car tho cos the classic is a great car to start out driving in

    Excellent idea Baz
Brian is right that it is difficult to find a decent mini for £500
Try the local paper, scotadds, supermarket ads, etc that might throw up a decent one.
Most specialist mags and websites have pretty high prices for older minis however check this out on ebay
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...EBWA%3AIT&rd=1
It is in Blairgowrie and I've seen additional photos and it looks pretty good.
As I live pretty near you I'd be happy to help out where I can.

And I do this in the full knowledge that I'm consorting wit the <shudder> bluenose enemy...
