Here's Jade & I's mini 'ongoing for many years now' project.

Well its been lying around long enough (off the road around 2.5 yrs), been bumped from one fraud repairer to the next so I decided to bring it down to have a look at whats needing done, what its going to cost & have go at getting it back on the road doing all if not most of the work myself.

    From 1st look round :

Needs a few small MOT parts - silly things light bulbs & wiper rubbers.
Bit of bodywork repair - arch that fell off put back on.
New rear valance & a bit of work on the boot floor which will req.
Water getting in somewhere so needs investigating & sorted out - might just be the Wastabo roof thing.

Engines a bit smokey still...............that will be left to last and rebuilt top and bottom end or replaced with another one.

    Few snaps:

    Rotten rear:

Wheel arch - pulled all the ****e off, glue etc

Ripped out all the interior to see what lay beneath:

    Not too bad:

And as it is sat now -

Dont hold your breath for any updates soon :|

Yeah I do plan to get it back on the road, its just been the time and cash flow involved for such a project that's held me back, we've already thrown a small fortune on this car.

I don't have much space to move around that garage either.....

Were in the middle of moving house just now so hopefully it will be in its new garage soon, with no junk crammed in with it so I can get to work.

Ive got my MIG at the ready, just need some panels.

The wheel arches shouldnt have glue behind them so they must have been botched on at some point.

Also your car has an SPi exhaust on it as apposed to the MPi one. Alot of people ended up going with the SPi one as they are about £30 as apposed to £130 for the correct MPi one. Doesnt sound right with the SPi on and it might just be me dreaming it but I dont think they go as well or idle as well with the SPi exhaust on.

from talking to the guys tonight, the exhaust issue is down to a supposed local mini expert.

as I said tonight guys, it's a money pit and if your happy to spend lots of cash, then make it a corker, other than that I would cut and run. Just IMHO of course.

Yep it certainly was our local mini 'expert' that swiped our exhaust

Wise words Craig. I think Jade wants a track car now after tonight anyway

Were going to have to sit down and work out what we want to do with it, I think making it a minter was never on the cards, we don't really need another road car so I doubt we would be keeping it. I may just do the minimum to get it road worthy then sell it. Although that in itself will no doubt be a costly exercise!

Im not sure what it would be worth either way. Surely one with no tax or text & been sat in a shed for 2yrs+ isnt worth more than a few hundred quid!!? I think it stands us at about £5k currently, so it would be nice to get some of that back!
