Whilst returning to the care I pressed the handle and the door would not open.
The handle black bit travels all the way to the silver part of the handle. The door opens from the inside and the central locking is fine. HELP HELP HELP.
I had this problem on my mx5. I had to strip the door and replace a small spring.
Hopefully one of you chaps/chapesses can explain to me in simple detail how to fix this fault.

    Any help appreciated, Thanks Ag.

There is a cable from the handle to the latch - it could have snapped or slipped out of its mount

This is easy to remove, I had the door panels of my 2002 ONE a couple times trying to fix rattles.

There are three torx bolts to remove. One is behind the little reflector at the top of the door, the others are at the bottom of holes in the bar/armrest bit.

Once those are out, you just need to pull clips out. I used to work my way from the bottom and just yank the panel off. I think it is best to lower the window before doing this.
