Can't see that working sadly, as the psn stores a fair amount of info relating to each game you play; rank, classes etc.

Point taken for online play, But I know Adam and Rory have theirs setup on a network and can play private games without even needing to sign into the PSN. Just wondered if there was a way you could extend the network over the internet. You know like a VPN?

Ohhh. Didn't know you could even do that.

No question that a VPN could be set up then. Realistically, there's no difference in connecting two PC's (PSN'S) between two adjoining rooms and you connecting to Gismo in the USA. However, you'd both have to have a fixed IP, and I'd venture neither of you have. I certainly don't.

Ok. Just checked and it is possible. If it's still down on Sunday night I'll give it a go. Anyone up for trying it then?

Sorry Andy. Was replying to my own post before I saw you'd posted back. All you'd need is one IP each, so wouldn't your assigned IP work if you were to use that?

Its worth trying - what's the worse that can happen? - but I'm not sure it will work on a floating IP.

Edit: Sunday night might be OK for me. Will let you know.

Doesn't your IP stay with you for as long as you're connected? I mean as long as you didn't power down your router and restart it should be fine?

I found this while looking. Not had a chance to read it all but it's a starting place I guess.

Hmmmm. OK, That may just work. Worth trying.

I can see our Router firewalls getting in the way. We may need to turn those off for the night - I wonder how many folk can actually remember how to get into the configuration settings on their router.

Deffo worth trying though. Will speak to MrsP and see if we have any plans for Sunday night. If not, I'll be on board. Grant, you wanna be host?
