Well today I managed to finally get round to fitting the 16" wheels I bought from GAJ earlier in the week...

First snag was that the old wheels wouldn't come off! Hot water finally released them, the rear ones being the main culprints. THe wheelnuts were also on incredibly tight and i wasnt sure that the wheelbrace wasnt going to snap before they came off!

Car looks much better now, the wheels filling the arches in the way the original designers surely intended.

Didn't get a proper drive, but around town the ride is much, much firmer - i can actually feel the texture of different road surfaces now... and its bringing out some new rattles that i might have to track down - i really like the feeling though (I have Sports + Suspension).

The steering doesng feel much different, but grip on the greasy surfaces today felt much better.

I'm now curious as to how the 16s would feel with non-runflat tyres on...

yeah but everything i've read says that 17 and 18s are improving the looks at the expense of the dynamics... i'm trying to strike a balance!

Been out playing with him today on his new wheels.

I'm amazed at the increased levels of grip... cornering and braking are vastly improved. I'm really, really pleased!!

With one old and one new wheel:-

    Job Finished! :-

Your MINI's looking Rob. I do like the 16" five star wheels.

So where are the fancy signatures from then?
