Well we're not getting a Mini any time soon.....£8700 for the gf's TT, as a part exchange. :( Never had the energy to go to Harry Fairbairne today, but will go next weekend, though i think AutoTrader is a calling.

try www.pistonheads.com too for selling the tt
Thanks guys. Will try Pistonheads too, yer.
Probably the wrong time of year to sell however....
You need to take a step back, if you were offered £8,700 for px then thats a good price. If its not enought ok, but if you think you will get much more then think again.
A deaer will want to stick min £1000 on the car, probably £1,500. He needs this to run his business. Means its going on his forecourst for £10,000-£10,500. for a 2002 180 TT.
Have a look on Autotrader for what they are going for right now.
Good luck
Similar cars i have found are going for 11.5-12k from a dealer and i should easily be able to get 10.5k.
I'm in the trade myself and had looked at a Glass's guide prior to turning up so i knew rough what to expect. At 8700 though, it falls short.
If your talking Audi dealers then yes sure £10.5k against a £20k car.
But a non fanchise dealer would not give you £10.5k for the car, especially with that mileage.
Always worth trying another dealer you never know, squeeze another £1000 out them and get yourself a slice of mini magic.
To be fair I dont think you will get £10.5K for it either.
My dad traded his TT in at a main Audi dealer for a new £32k TT back in July and got only £10.2k for a 225bhp Quattro, full leather, bose sounds, with only 31k miles. Remember that was 4 months ago.
