Article in this weeks Auto Express mag with photos and info on new engines for the MINI. They are testing a British built 1.6 engine. Power- MINI One 110bhp, MINI Cooper 130bhp and Cooper S not yet decided but 1.6 turbo and 2.0 under trial. The motoring press seem to regard the MINIs engine as it's weakest feature (although I have no complaints about mine).

I think a 2.0 Turdo would be nice with 4 wheel drive!

No need for the phantom editor on this post

Surely a fecal powered mini would be an amazing feat!

Autoexpress also said the new engines would go in in 2005 but I think those in the know on MINI2 though it would be 2006 at the earliest.

Wonder if the new British made engines will leak oil and need WD40 sprayed on the distributor cap to get them started in wet weather?

I also have not had any problems with my engine, especially post-induction kit which gave it some character. A bit thirsty though, hope they improve that...

I have not had any probs with my engine so far, will have to blow it up though which is a bit of a pain, so I will see how good it is then :)
