Ok, well I was trying to find out why my CD player and AUX port weren't working and proceeded to lose a screw by placing it on top of the dash where it fell into an air vent hole.

It has since became stuck in the doors which control the top air direction setting preventing me from directing air up to the windscreen as the dial will not turn that far.

This morning the screw moved on and will now be somewhere around the flaps that direct the air still. I really need to get to wherever this is.

I have a Haynes manual but can't find directions on getting to the tubes and flaps in it. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what I need to remove to get in there to get the screw out?

If you have the pre-facelift model then its easy.

Open the doors and remove the panels at the sides of the dash (they just pull off)

remove the two screws either side

take a good hold of the dash top and pull.

now you can get to the vents easily
and if the screw falls down past the fan then you can open up the airvent filter at the passengers footwell.

    call me if your stuck
