Thanks, would be grateful!
Any ideas of costs also?
If the scratches aren't to bad then good old toothpaste is great as its a very mild grinding paste:approve: But if there really noticeable then I don't know what to suggest I'm afraid:I :approve:

I had scratches on a watch face, Brasso took them away. I assume it works in a similar way to the toothpaste idea.
what you need is jewellers rouge. works a treat used it on our X5 to take scratches off windscreen.
total breeze to use. you can buy it from ebay for something like 4.99 follow instructions very gentle rub and the glass is like brand new. It what the glass guys use.

thankyou ScottieCoop, an option I will try and I have decided to go for this car, should hopefully collect in a weeks time as my plate has to be transferred.
Can't let myself get too excited though as cars alwasy fall through for me :-(
just checked ebay and the products jewellers rouge says
'If you run your finger over the scratch and can feel it - the scratch is too deep for this product'
maybe it won't work for me then!
You could always give the window a wee hit and then spend the £60 or whatever it is on your insurance and get a new window.
Jewllers rouge is the stuff you are on about, its great for taking small scratches out, obviously it wont take really deep ones out. Ive used it for taking fine scratches out of watch glasses with pretty amazing results.quote:Originally posted by Gordons_cooper_wrks
something rings a bell that there is a type of polish that window fitters use that can remove scratches. I think it was called jewelers polish but im not to sure.
